The Idea Is Better Than The Truth

I like the idea of volleyball,

Getting the ball over the large and far net,

Crowds cheering for your team,

Running and diving down to the ground to save your team.

The reality of volleyball is,

Bruises all over your legs and body,

Sore wrists and thumbs,

Aching muscles the next hour or more.

I like the idea of cooking,

Soft dough sliding in between your fingers,

Adding ingredients with other,

Spreading icing on your desert,

Eating the extras of the dough for laughs.

The reality of cooking is,

Dirty counters and tables waiting to get cleaned up,

Dirty dishes in the sink in need of washing,

Messy ingredients on your clothing that you need to get washed,

Impatiently waiting for that oven to beep to eat that delicious food of yours that you have made.

The idea is way better than the truth, what ive said in this post are just examples.

There are a lot more that I can name but those two are my main two ideas I could think of.

Growing Up

I was born in Quebec City, living with both of my parents for 5-6 years. Making my kindergarten French with no English, in 2012 my parents got a divorce and agreed that I would live with my mom in Ontario while my dad would stay in Quebec City. Moving to Vernon was stressful but also exciting but it was a long time ago so I’m not too sure about my other emotions at the time. Overall, it was a great time! Moving schools, making friends, meeting my stepdad and his friends. It was a fun time, but at the end of 2020 we couldn’t afford our house in Vernon causing us to move houses for the first time in 8 years. We found this small country house in Winchester, we moved in on July 1st, 2020. I started going to school at North Dundas District High School till this day. Now here I am writing this blog, and that is how I grew up.

People I Wish To See This Christmas

I’ll just get straight to the point and say that I would really love to see my grandparents this Christmas because since my parents are divorced, I don’t get to see my grandparents that often especially since they recently moved into my aunt’s cottage. The cottage is about 2 or 3 hours away, so I don’t often drive to see them unless if it’s something important. Someone I also really hope I see this Christmas is my older brother, he is 25 and has his own company, so he is always working and that means I don’t get to see him that often. Because of that I would really like to see him and all my siblings finally together again this Christmas. Having my dad’s side of the family getting back together would be good to see because I haven’t been with all of them in over a year. It is rare for all of us to gather all together because they all live in random parts of Quebec, I really hope we do end up seeing each other again.

                                                        Mia-Rose

I am from walking through nature,

surrounded by trees, and wet leaves.

Climbing trees, leaf’s falling

To branches creaking.

I am from walking into the strong smell of cinnamon.

My friend twirling and suddenly slipping,

Bursting into laughs.

Then walking in the school hallways in laughter,

For hours and from this day I still thinking about it.

I am from opening the dish washer,

The hot steam rushing to my face in seconds.

Wet plates being wiped with a red kitchen cloth.

Fresh blankets on my bed, pillows smoothly placed against my bed frame.

Folded laundry the end of my bed waiting to be folded,

Closet’s opened waiting to be filled.

Homemade almond pie on the table,

The crust with the color so close to gold.

Shining utensils with plates as white as snow.

I’m from old fairy tales being told,

Disney movies till 1 in the morning with my friends.

Giggles and laughs until your parents walk upstairs,

Sleeping bags and air mattresses and birthday cake waiting to get eaten.

About sketching.

Hello, welcome to my blog!  This is my first blog and I hope you enjoy it. Today I’m going to be talking about sketching, as you must already know, sketching can be lots of things but it is mostly a rough drawing of anything! You can sketch about anything that you enjoy or anything you are a fan of or the things you dislike and anything that you can think of. Of course, sketching is not for everybody, but I’m sure a lot of people can find something to sketch about, like your favourite music album or your favourite sport, it really doesn’t have to be something you are a fan of it can be something you dislike, like your least favourite foods or your least favourite subject. Although sketching can take up a lot of your time it is quite interesting to see the outcome, it can get frustrating sometimes while either you can’t draw the perfect shape or detail but sometimes it’s for the best. Sketching is fun in different ways, but also not for everybody. People can have their own opinions on sketching of course, in my opinion people should try sketching one time and see if they like it. It takes practice, but as you know perfect makes perfect.
